My Journey as an Author

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas where I grew up playing football, running track, and going fishing every chance I got. Being an outdoorsy person, I considered writing boring and pointless...that was until I was fifteen and wrote an article that was published in my local newspaper. It was then that I began to realize my gift for writing as well as the power of writing. This eventually led me to major in English at Wayland Baptist University and pursue my writing career. Since that first published article, I have written dozens of poems and short stories. In 2020, I completed my first children's book The Grammar Jungle, and in 2022, I completed my first Young Adult novel, The Death of Ross. In the Fall of 2022, I took a job as an English teacher in Mexico City which is where I now live. I continue to pursue my writing career while also sharing my passion for writing and literature with the next generation.
